Most of us were celebrating Labor day weekend by bar-B-queing this weekend.What were the Richie -maddens doing? They were celebrating their son Sparrow’s first birthday. Although Sparrow turns 1 on Sept 9 Nicole chose saturday to have the party. She had about 50 guests which included actress Ellen Pompeo and her daughter Stella Luna, 11 months, and Sparrow’s uncle Benji Madden, who all gathered in the backyard of the family’s Hollywood Hills home and ate birthday cake. The backyard was decorated with red, green, orange and purple “Happy Birthday” balloons for the occasion.
Nicole who was once known for partying kept it simple because she didnt want to overwhelm her son. Its amazing how motherhood has turned Nicole Richie’s life around.
